Air Force Common Admission Test commonly known as AFCAT is an entrance examination conducted by Indian Air Force to select eligible and desirable candidates for multiple posts in Flying and Ground Duty [Technical and Non- Technical]. AFCAT is conducted twice every year and millions of students appear to ace this exam and join reputable Air Force Academy and get the commission as an Indian Air Force Officer.

AFCAT 2 Notification 2021
Indian Air Force has released the AFCAT 2021 notification for Indian citizens (Men and Women) to be part of its elite force as Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty [Technical and Non-Technical] branches for courses commencing in July 2022. The notification was released on June 1 at the official of AFCAT. The online application process will begin from June 1 and end on June 30. Interested candidates who are willing to join Indian Air Force as an officer can now apply online at the official website, https://afcat.cdac.in. The officer notification pdf is given below.

Selection Process
AFCAT Exam takes place twice a year. The online exam is conducted by the Indian Air Force. The selection process of the AFCAT Exam comprises the following stages:
Stage 1: AFCAT Written Exam is the only criteria for clearing the first stage for the Non-Technical candidates;
while AFCAT + EKT (Engineering Knowledge Test) for the Technical candidates
Stage 2: Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Interview
Stage 3: Medical Test

Exam Pattern 2021
As per the notification, the AFCAT written exam consists of General Aptitude, General Awareness, Verbal Ability, Reasoning, and Military Aptitude. The question and marks distribution of each section is depicted in the given table.

For all the candidates of the AFCAT, it is mandatory to appear in the written test. Also, the candidates who have applied for the technical posts need to appear in the Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT).

- Negative Marking: -1 for each incorrect answer

The standard of Mathematics will be of Matriculation level. The standard of other subjects is as per the graduation level of Indian Universities. The topics for each section have been listed for convenience. Candidates can go through the topics given for each subject to prepare well.
General Awareness
This section tests the general knowledge of the candidates. The questions are designed on the basis of ongoing, current events in various fields around the world. About 20 questions are asked in this section. The major topics covered in this section are given below:

Verbal Ability in English

Marking Scheme 2021
The Online examination will consist of objective type questions and will be in English only for both AFCAT and EKT. The Marking Scheme for the AFCAT Exam is as follows:-
- Three marks will be awarded for every correct answer.
- One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
- No marks for unattempted questions.
Questions will be based on the metric system of Weights & Measures wherever applicable. Candidates are required to appear for the Online AFCAT in person. Under no circumstance will any scribe or another candidate be allowed to appear/ assist in the exam. Air Force has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination.
