Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana: Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), 149 posts of district and block-level project management units will soon be appointed. Rural Development Secretary Manish Ranjan has given instructions to fill these vacant posts soon. It may be known that out of these 149 vacant posts, 47 Block Coordinators, five District Coordinators, and the rest of the Accountants and Computer Operators are to be appointed. All these appointments will be on a contract basis. Their responsibility is to make the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) smooth.

2.80 lakh pending houses will be completed by December 31

The Rural Development Secretary has written to the Deputy Commissioners that 21,868 houses are pending for completion in the first phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) i.e. during 2016-19. 2,59,819 houses of the second phase i.e. 2019-21 are yet to be completed. In any case, it has to be completed by 31 December. Under the Housing Plus scheme, the work of approving the schemes will start from July 15. For this, it is necessary to ensure 100% job card mapping and Aadhar seeding.
It is mandatory to send the first installment to the beneficiary’s account within seven days of the acceptance of the accommodation. Due to non-compliance with this instruction, the construction of houses is getting delayed. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) also, the construction of toilets, free electricity connection, free gas, and stove are to be provided. Apart from this, 90-95 man-days are also to be created from Manrega.
