Haryana Govt Sets Up India’s First ‘Grain ATM’ Pilot Project In Gurugram


Haryana government has set up India’s first-ever ‘Grain ATM’ as a pilot project in Gurugram. The newly installed machines can dispense approximately 70 kg of grains in five to seven minutes’ time. It is installed under the ‘World Food Programme’ of the United Nation. It aims to provide relief to the consumers who wait in long queues to get the ration.

Three types of grains – wheat, rice, and millet can be distributed through this machine.


Minister of Tribal Affairs launches the nationwide campaign ‘COVID Teeka Sang Surakshit Van, Dhan aur Uddyam’


Minister of Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda virtually launched the nationwide campaign “COVID Teeka Sang Surakshit Van, Dhan aur Uddyam” to accelerate the pace of COVID vaccination among tribals, in India. The campaign will leverage the 45,000 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras of the TRIFED. It will highlight the three key Js: Jeevan (Life) Jeevika (Livelihood) Jaagrookta (Awareness)

Union Education Minister and Union Tribal Affairs Minister to jointly launch School Innovation Ambassador Training Program


Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan & Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda will jointly launch the ‘School Innovation Ambassador Training Program’ for 50,000 School Teachers The innovative and one of its kind training program for School Teachers aims at training 50,000 school teachers on Innovation, Entrepreneurship, IPR, Design Thinking, Product development.

Rajnath Singh launches AI- powered grievance management application

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched an Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered grievance management application in New Delhi. The system was developed by the Ministry of Defence with the cooperation of IIT-Kanpur. This is the 1st AI-based system developed to improve grievance redressal in the Government. The system can identify repeat complaints or spam automatically.

Covid vaccination campaign for pregnant women in Kerala, “Mathrukavacham”


The Kerala government’s campaign ‘mathrukavacham’ to vaccinate all the pregnant women in the state against COVID-19 infection was inaugurated at the district level recently.

Spot registrations for vaccination of pregnant women would be carried out at various government hospitals.

Pregnant women can receive the COVID vaccine at any time during their pregnancy.

Bandaru Dattatreya takes oath as 18th Governor of Haryana


Former Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya sworn in as the 18th governor of Haryana. Dattatreya was administered the oath of office by Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice Ravi Shanker Jha.

He was the minister of state for labour and employment in the NDA government headed by Narendra Modi in 2014 and was also part of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee cabinet earlier.

Dattatreya was governor of Himachal Pradesh. He succeeds Satyadeo Narain Arya.


DBT, MoES sign inter-ministerial MoU for cooperation in field of polar biology


An MoU was signed between the MoES & the DBT for cooperation in the area of polar biology.

The MoU envisages mutual collaboration to explore the possibility of cooperation, convergence and synergy to bring out the expertise and services of both organizations under one roof and work hand-in-hand for addressing relevant questions in the field of polar biology.

The song, created by AR Rahman and Ananya Birla, was unveiled ahead of the highly-anticipated Tokyo Olympics which is scheduled to commence from July 23 and conclude on August 8.

RBI Cancels Licence Of Dr Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar Urban Co-operative Bank


The Reserve Bank of India canceled the license of Dr Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd, Nilanga, Latur, as it does not have adequate capital and earning prospects and as such, it does not comply with the provisions of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.

The bank with its current financial position would be unable to pay its depositors in full.


India’s first pod taxi to operate between Jewar Airport and Noida Film City


Indian Port Rail and Ropeway Corporation Ltd (IPRCL) has prepared a Detailed Project Report or DPR for the pod taxi service between Noida Airport at Jewar and Film City. This is a 14 km stretch.

This will be India’s first pod taxi service.

Pod taxis can accommodate four to six passengers per car.

There are plans to run a driverless taxi between the two destinations.


Cabinet okays scheme to provide ₹1,624 cr over 5 years as subsidy to Indian shipping companies


Union Cabinet approved a scheme to provide Rs 1,624 crore over 5 years as a subsidy to Indian shipping companies in global tenders floated by ministries and CPSEs for import of government cargo.

The subsidy support would be extended only to those ships which have bagged the award after the implementation of the scheme & ships older than 20 years would not be eligible.

The budgetary support would be provided directly to the ministry/department concerned.


India has highest number of unvaccinated, under-vaccinated kids worldwide at 3.5 million: UNICEF


India has the highest number of under-vaccinated or unvaccinated children worldwide at 3.5 million, an increase of 1.4 million from 2019, amid the pandemic outbreak.

It also noted that over 3 mn zero-dose children in 2020 lived in India.

At nearly 4.4 million, South Asia recorded highest number of children having failed to receive routine vaccination in the past 10 years.
