The Ministry of I & B launched a digital calendar and diary for 2021, instead of printing them which helped the ministry save nearly ₹ 5 crores. The app ‘GoI Calendar is free and is available in 11 languages. Each month to carry a theme and a message.

RBI to conduct Variable Rate Reverse Repo auction on Jan 15 for notified amount of Rs 2 lakh crores

In order to restore normal liquidity management operations in a phased manner, RBI to conduct variable rate reverse repo auction of Rs 2 lakh crore on Jan 15. Repo rate is the rate of interest rate at which the central bank lends short term money to banks.

Japan Plans To Create Wooden Satellites to cut down on Space Junk

Japanese start-up Sumitomo Forestry teamed up with researchers from Kyoto University, to work on a wooden satellite. It aims at tackling the increasing threat of space debris. The teams plan to launch the world’s first satellite made out of wood in 2023.
